Hello language enthusiasts. When learning a language, we memorize words, but if you don't have an expert teacher or aren't attending a course, there won't be anyone to guide you on which words to memorize and how.
The words we use in our daily lives in our native language actually serve as a roadmap for us. In everyday life and in colloquial Turkish, we often resort to exclamations. Using exclamations makes speech effective and fluent if we know where and when to use them. Yes, when memorizing ordinary words, we know when to use them based on the feeling in our native language, but even if we memorize the exclamations in the foreign language we are learning, we might not know where and when to use them.
I have always supported the thesis that words are derived from onomatopoeic sounds, so I like to see exclamations, especially those with onomatopoeic features (like Hmmm, shhh, ugh, phew), as words that either haven't completed their evolution or have given up on evolving.
Without further ado, I tried to provide you with the Russian equivalents of Turkish exclamations along with their explanations. Of course, these equivalents will not match each other 100%, but at least when you hear these exclamations or calls, you will largely know when to use them. The best way to memorize them is, of course, to practice in real-time when we see and hear the event, but since not everyone has this opportunity, I recommend watching movies or series based on everyday life. I will also shoot a video on this topic soon and inform you about it in this article.
