About this lesson

Part 2 takes the rule from Part 1 into a short dialogue in the style of Magnificent Century. Sultan Süleyman asks three questions: Hürrem Sultan nerede? Sarayda mı yoksa odada mı? Benim kalbim nerede? Dr. Furkan Kurt answers them one by one with the same two checks: no Fıstıkçı Şahap letter at the end of saray or oda, so the d group, and the last vowel a gives sarayda and odada.

The third question has many possible answers. Sultan Süleyman'ın kalbi Hürrem Sultan'da, and the same ending on the pronouns gives bende, sende, onda, bizde, sizde and onlarda, the way Turkish says who has something. Then Hürrem asks her own questions: Bahçede mi yoksa tahtta mı? Bahçe takes -de, but taht ends in t, one of the hard letters, so it becomes tahtta, on the throne.

Her last line, Benim kalbim onunla, opens a different topic, the ending -la/-le (benimle, seninle), which a later lesson covers. The video closes by turning the question to you: Siz şimdi neredesiniz? Ben İstanbul'dayım. Ben Türkiye'deyim.
